This hands-on workshop is designed especially for curious young makers aged 8–12, where creativity meets science, technology, and engineering in exciting ways. Kids will get to explore the wonders of air and space through fun, interactive projects that spark imagination and discovery.

Over one and a half hours, kids will design, test, and play their way through activities inspired by flight, aerodynamics, and robotics.

Activities include:

  • Make a laser cut glider: design, assemble and decorate your own glider using laser cut elements - can you make a functional flying machine?

  • Wind tube fun: explore the principles of aerodynamics with our wind tube challenge!

  • Ozobots in space: draw with code to create your own robot constellation and explore the solar system.

All materials and devices are supplied. With guidance from our Makerspace facilitators, participants will have the chance to experiment, problem-solve, and bring their own ideas to life - just like real space innovators do!

Details:

  • Cost: $10 for each child (accompanying adults are free).

  • Bookings and class size: maximum 10 children – bookings essential.

  • Suitable for: 8 to 12 years and their parents or guardians.

  • Experience level: no prior making experience required.

More information:

We think carefully about the suggested age range for our activities and this workshop is only appropriate for children over the age of 8 years.
