A National Crochet Conference is being held at the Wesley Conference Centre in Sydney.

The National Crochet Conference run by the not-for-profit www.crochetguildaustralia.org.au will provide an extensive yarn market, workshops, and 8 hours a day of presentations on topics related to crochet including:

  • How to protect your intellectual property

  • Fashions on the field

  • Fast fingers competition

  • Acrylic yarn vs wool and natural fibre options and blended varieties.

  • Mending crochet

  • Up-cycling – unique chic on how to update and create amazing crochet garments from old items in your wardrobe or from thrifting.

  • Shelley Husband (Australian) and Dedri Uys (UK) - the designer who created the famous Sophies Universe - have a discussion live on stage on how they write and publish their patterns and come up with their designs.

  • How to make an income from crochet.

The $35 entry ticket to the conference includes access to all speaking presentation as well as a yarn market with 30 vendors selling yarn, crochet, and items of interest to attendees.

Also available are 35 workshops on speciality crochet topics that are ticketed separately and include the teachers:
