namuru means ‘path’ or ‘compass’ in the language of the Gadigal people, the traditional owners of the land and waters upon which the MCA is situated.

Drawing from the MCA's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Learning Framework, namuru provides a foundation for the development of meaningful learning experiences about First Peoples' artists and artworks. Gain deeper insights into contemporary art practices and learn best practice strategies for teaching and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and artists in the early childhood, primary and secondary years.

Led by the Senior Coordinator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Learning Programs with a team of artist educators, participants will engage in collaborative workshops and discussions, hear from artists about their practice, and model best practice strategies in the MCA galleries.

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educators $160
