Workshop Sunday 24 September 2023 1–2.30pm
Our perception of discarded and reclaimed materials is evolving as we recognise their intrinsic value as precious resources.
Metamorphosis, an exhibition by design-maker Marlo Lyda, presents the beginnings of a profound transformation as mined waste becomes usable artifacts for contemporary life. A hands-on workshop led by Lyda will provide insight into the _Metamorphosis _exhibition.
Situated in the urban hub of Sydney's Central Station, Metamorphosis is a thought-provoking journey following the trail of resources extracted from Australian soil as they undergo processes of reinterpretation and potential reuse. Lyda's exhibition showcases the possibilities that emerge when empirical research and intuition-led design practices are combined to reimagine waste as a precious resource.
