Friday 5 April from 10:30am to 12:30pm Saturday 6 April from 10:30am to 12:30pm

Cost

Starting from: $20

Discover the elements that thread through the films of Martin Scorsese and how he makes such personal work feel so universal. His monumental career – from early breakthrough Mean Streets to the recent hit Killers of the Flower Moon – echoes that of Hitchcock and has had a significant impact on popular culture.

CJ Johnson is a film critic and commentator with ABC Radio, including Mornings with Sarah Macdonald, Evenings with Indira Naidoo and Nightlife with Suzanne Hill. He is the president of the Film Critics Circle of Australia, head lecturer in screen storytelling and cinema studies at Sydney Film School, and a voter for the Golden Globes. In 2023, he presented the Art of cinema lecture series at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Each lecture will be held on Friday and repeated on Saturday in the Domain Theatre. Each session includes a 15-minute intermission, during which tea and coffee will be provided in the Domain Theatre foyer.
