Lounging with Doris

An intimate and hilarious night in the back lounge of the Hollywood Hotel. And it's free!

The "Doris Godard Room" of the fabulous Hollywood Hotel is the venue for its dearly departed owner and resident cabaret singer Doris Goddard. The real Hollywood is where our star Doris Godard spent sometime in the 1950's movie world acting in films with the likes of Bob Hope and Katherine Hepburn before returning to Australia to purchase the Surry Hills pub. 

Vashti Hughes has taken Doris' 1955 feature film "Wee Geordie", examining and performing Doris' role in it and has transcribed all Doris' scenes. On this hilarious night of entertainment a few members of the audience are judiciously chosen by Vashti and cast opposite her to perform the other roles in Doris' scenes.

After the scenes have been enacted the film is projected in this intimate space. A night of hilarity and creativity where everyone can be a star! No need to register for this free event.
