Celebrate Māori and Pasifika cultures connected by Moana (the ocean) with an exhilarating after-dark program at the MCA.
The evening begins on the Museum forecourt, with Matavai Pacific Cultural Arts bringing the movement, rhythm and distinct styles of Pasifika cultural dance to Circular Quay.
The party continues on Level 4, where spectacular views of Warrane/Sydney Harbour provide the backdrop for a live performance by singer Rosita Vai, spoken word by Winnie Dunn, contemporary dance by choreographer Sela Vai, and DJ sets, including a special performance incorporating rap and poetry by co-curator Lalau Leo Tanoi.
Throughout the night, share in ancestral knowledges through ika and ribbon lei making workshops, before settling in for a screening of Tenor: My Name is Pati, a 2026 Sydney Film Festival favourite that follows a Samoan family’s journey through the world of opera.
Your ticket includes access to the full program and all current MCA exhibitions.
