Join us at the Darling Square Library Makerspace to craft fabulous jewellery and wearables that showcase your unique style. From glittery acrylic earrings to bold leather cuffs, this is a fun opportunity to bring your ideas to life while working in a safe and supportive environment alongside other creators.
New to the makerspace community? No worries! We have a range of fun jewellery and wearable templates on hand for you to personalise. Explore a range of fun materials including glittery acrylic, plywood, felt and leather to create your own laser cut designs, just in time for the big parade on the 1st of March.
Led by an experienced facilitator, this workshop offers a fantastic introduction to the world of laser cutting.

Basic digital design using Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
Basic laser cutting techniques
Jewellery-making techniques
What you’ll take home
1 to 2 laser-cut items in either plywood, leather or coloured Perspex – all materials provided
If your design is not ready by the end of the workshop, you can collect from the library the next business day

Cost: $40 full price / $33 concession per person
Bookings and class size: Maximum 8 people – bookings are essential
Suitable for: Suitable for ages 16 and over
Parental permission is required for under 18s
Experience level: This is a beginner workshop with no required knowledge
Wear: Enclosed shoes and no loose-fitting clothing or jewellery

Eligibility for concession price: the ticket purchaser must hold a valid NSW pensioner, senior or full-time student card. Valid proof of concession to be shown in advance or in person at the workshop. If valid proof of concession is not provided, the full rate will be required to be paid.
Bookings can be cancelled up to 7 days before the date of the workshop. Cancellations made within 7 days of the course starting will not be refunded. See terms and conditions here.
