Two lesbians against the world, creating their own. Abstracted Shakespeare, Uzbek folk tales, poetry, and gay melodrama meld in a whirlwind of theatre.

The premier of a debut work from writer and director Anastasia Dale: Joan Marie follows two lovers as they traverse the roles they play and try to express who they are to each other. They are Olivia and Viola, they are the same fairytale princess, they are poets and muses, they are Joan and Marie. This piece travels through time, a reflection on queer past, present, future, and fantasy.
