The kimono, a traditional Japanese garment, boasts a rich history that spans over a thousand years. Originating from the Heian period (794-1185), the kimono was initially influenced by Chinese clothing styles but gradually evolved into a distinct Japanese form.
In this captivating event, Kyoko will take you on a journey through the world of kimono dressing. Discover the allure of this traditional garment and witness its breathtaking evolution over the past 50 years, from its origins to the modern day. Kyoko will share her expertise on how we can embrace the kimono's enchanting presence in our fast-paced, contemporary lives. Contrary to popular belief, the kimono is not confined to those with Japanese heritage alone. Kyoko passionately believes that this exquisite attire is meant to be enjoyed by everyone.
All ages & skill levels welcome, children under 12 will need an accompanying adult.
