One Off Class
Learn the art of Linocut print making in this Introduction to linocut class.
In this 3 hour class you will learn about how to carve your own linocut design, then print a series of greeting cards using your design. Perfect for creating your very own Christmas or art-style greeting cards.
Your teacher will walk you through designing your own motif, and how to transfer that on to the Lino, then how to use linocut tools, the various mediums you can use for linocutting - including using recycled materials - as well as learning how to use the ink and print press to print your cards.
You will come out of the class with a personally designed linocut that you can continue to use at home, as well as a number of printed cards.
Plus, you will have the skills needed to continue this craft at home.
Linocut printmaking is a low-cost, traditional but simple form of printmaking that you can easily set up at home. The tools are affordable and it is a craft you can return back to again and again once you learn the basics.
But be warned: It's addictive!!!
About your teacher
Sara started printing with lino in 2017, when she began experimenting with flooring offcuts and how these could be used for printmaking. At first making small scale simple prints, often monochrome and resembling children's book illustrations. With time making larger, multi-colour prints.
In 2019 during an artist residency in Ireland, Sara started experimenting with reduction prints and how to merge different disciplines with printmaking.
