Grenache is one of the most exciting grapes today, with winemakers in the warmer regions reinventing Australian grenache styles.
These wines are more aromatic, elegant, approachable young, and more fruit-driven, so that they express their vineyard and region better than ever before.
International Grenache Day is on September 15, and The Real Review is inviting guests to celebrate together on Tuesday 12September with a four-course dinner with 12 matching wines at China Doll in Sydney.
Mostly pure grenaches, with a couple of grenache blends to put the grape in perspective, these excellent reds are mainly from the prime grenache regions of McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley, plus one each from Heathcote and Clare Valley. This will be an evening of revelations.
