Every day, 9:30am to 5:30pm Wednesday 16 November 2022 to Friday 18 November 2022
Hunar presents, Art/Conflict 2022, at the University of Technology Sydney from Wednesday 16 November to Friday 18 November.
This unmissable three day series of talks brings together artists, art workers, activists and academics to discuss – how do we respond to conflict, crisis and colonisation through the arts? And how can our cultural and creative responses begin to heal us?
This event foregrounds the importance of creative work in producing imaginative, humorous, provocative and unpredictable responses to conflicts, both past and present. The global and the local come together in these series of talks.
Who will be there?
Speakers include:
Badiucao, a prolific and political Chinese Australian artist, who has faced serious challenges of government censorship
Djon Mundine, esteemed Bandjalang curator, author, public speaker and artist
Megan Cope, renowned Quandamooka artist and co-founder of the collective proppaNow, recent winners of the prestigious Jane Lombard Prize
Marcelo Brodsky, prominent Buenos-Aires based photographer and visual artist and activist
Sara Nina, public artist and political activist from Brazil’s Aparecidos Politicos
