As part of the Great Southern BioBlitz, join Dr James Macnamara, City of Sydney’s urban ecology coordinator, for a community biodiversity survey.

You’ll learn:

  • what the Great Southern Bioblitz is

  • how to use the iNaturalist app for reporting biodiversity observation

  • how to spot hard-to-find species and make effective observations for later identification.

What you need:

  • smartphone with iNaturalist app installed (available free on Google Play or Apple Store)

  • camera (optional)

  • enclosed shoes and clothing suitable for the outdoors.

What you’ll get:

  • guided tour of the park

  • experience in making wildlife observations.

Suitable for all ages and abilities. No prior knowledge required.

We're also holding a community survey at Sydney Park.
