For the first time, the Goethe-Institut and Woollahra Council jointly invite everyone to enjoy German culture in all its diversity.
The festivities will include a vibrant mix of food and drink, live music and performances, information and entertainment as well as special activities for kids and young adults.
Half a century ago, the Goethe-Institut established its presence in Australia and since then we have offered cultural events and exchange, German language courses, teacher training, and so much more to Australians in Sydney, Melbourne and elsewhere around the country.
We’ve made many friends and connections, helped each other out, championed creativity and art, and engaged in lively discourse.
On the first of April 2023, let’s all gather around our heritage building in our corner of the leafy suburb of Woollahra to celebrate these achievements with our community.
The Eureka Reserve at our front door, boasting an original piece of the Berlin Wall, forms the perfect backdrop. We will also have food trucks, stalls and a stage for live bands, film screenings and other fun programs in and around the Goethe-Institut and in our backyard and garden.
If you’re interested in participating, performing or hosting a stall to sell goods, or if you'd llike to propose a sponsorship deal, or if you have other ideas for the day, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info-sydney@goethe.de
