Good works of art are timeless, and the artists in this exhibition prove that they are still contemporary.
Paintings from the estate of David Aspden highlight his use of distinct blocks of colour or blackness to represent the colours of Sydney Harbour bouncing off the water, or of the shapes of leaves silhouetted against the sun. Tony Coleing's Broken Pipe sculptures were conceived in 1970, but not made until 2023. Richard Larter's distinct colourful paintings from the 1980s gyrate before us, their colours both harmonious and jarring.
