Tuesday 8 April from 10am to 3pm
This is a figure sculpting class designed for both beginning and advanced students interested in figurative sculpture. Sculpting directly in clay and working from a life model, students study the body’s three-dimensional form with emphasis placed on the fundamental sculptural principles of proportion, volume and movement.
By the end of the class the student will be able to:
Model clay from life utilising additive and reductive techniques.
Demonstrate textural techniques used in surface treatment.
Use clay modelling tools
Evaluate figure sculptures with consideration to composition, proportion, volume, weight, rhythm and texture.
