Vintage ensembles from a family's matrilineal line beginning from 1900, inherited and presented by a mother-daughter team.
The ensembles are shown alongside contextualising material: family photographs and film, original sewing machines and the camphor wood trunk in which some items were locked unseen for 60 years. A celebration of the ordinary; the art of the everyday. Exploring the garments' relationship to the fashion industry: looking to a sustainable future by reconceptualising the notion of 'women's work'.
