This masterclass featuring Noel Thurgate will delve into the elements of painting composition and the artistic techniques employed to captivate the viewer's attention and curiosity. Whether it's a specific gesture, expression, or a broader structural arrangement, each detail plays a crucial role in engaging the audience.

Drawing directly from a selection of works in the Art Gallery of New South Wales collection, you will consider the essential components of each work and create your own interpretations.

Noel Thurgate is a multiple-time Archibald Prize finalist, making this a unique opportunity to learn from one of the best.

This workshop is suitable for people with prior drawing and painting experience who wish to extend their skills and practice.
