Chasing the Moon blends the exuberant and romantic sounds of European and Latin jazz, infusing them with folk elements and a dash of blues. Their arrangements bubble with fresh, original energy, offering each band member a chance to shine.

Kathy Bluff (violin/vocals) and Paul Burjan (saxophones/flute) lead the ensemble, exploring a rich, orchestral palette. Soulful vocals intertwine with swinging violin and saxophone, while Garry Steel's accordion adds an essential Parisian charm.

John Blenkhorn, a respected Sydney jazz guitarist, provides rhythmic pulse and exquisite solos. The rhythm section, featuring Merv Sequiera on double bass and Mike Quigley on drums, lays down irresistible grooves.

“Their evocation of gypsy swing, cool blues, and continental jazz styles is peerless among Australian groups. The quality of the arrangements, the virtuosity of the instrumentalists, and Kathy Bluff's vocals are simply outstanding.” – Tony Smith, Trad & Now Magazine.

“Like walking through a music festival in a European village.” – Simon Marnie, ABC Radio.

“Chasing the Moon provides wonderful entertainment. Kathy Bluff’s violin and vocals make Chasing the Moon really swing – not to be missed!” – Doug Saxon, Newcastle Jazz Festival.
