Thursday 23 March from 1pm to 2pm
The Sydney Bach Society in partnership with Create NSW is delighted present the Marais Project in its upcoming Caccini Circle Concert.
Set in the beautiful surrounds of Christ Church St Laurence, this free* lunchtime recital series brings together some of Australia's most beloved classical artists, pairing each performer with an award winning composer, in what promises to be a dynamic and thrilling musical experience.
Named after the Baroque composing and singing sensation, Francesca Caccini (1587 - 1640), these concerts celebrate the rich and varied compositional voices of Australia's women. Each Caccini commission asks our selected composer to delve into the Baroque repertory and reimagine the works of the past for a diverse 21st Century audience.
On March 23, our guest performers are the renown Marais Project. Fresh from their tour of regional NSW, performers Jennifer Eriksson (gamba), Tommie Andersson (lute), and Susie Bishop (vocal/violin) will present an eclectic mix of early music, merging the voices of the Baroque with that of the award winning composer and concert artist, Jane Sheldon.
