Tuesday 20 April 2021 from 10:30am to 12:30pm Friday 23 April 2021 from 2pm to 4pm
This workshop is free for seniors, thanks to co-funding by a NSW Seniors Festival Grant provided by the Department of Communities and Justice.
Buttons date back to 5000 years ago when they served as ornaments rather than fasteners. So let's pay tribute and put them on full display and make them a statement accessory in this fun Sydney workshop!
In this 2 hour workshop, Deanne Barnes will take you through how to make a beautiful necklace from a selection of neutral coloured buttons. Deanne makes it look simple, but there's actually quite a lot that goes into selecting the colours and sizes to make it look effortless. There are also a few secrets to threading it just right, especially when you're aiming for the double layers.
We will supply neutral coloured buttons, however, if you have statement buttons that you've been collecting or have your grandma's button box to raid, please feel free to bring them along.
You will leave with a 'new to you' necklace that's cute as a button! At the end of the workshop, you are welcome to join a tour of the Reverse Garbage warehouse.
