Bronze casting sculpture: 2 day studio workshop

Where
Willoughby Arts Centre
Willoughby Arts Centre
33 Laurel St, North Willoughby NSW 2068, Australia
When

Saturdays, 10am to 2pm Saturday 18 September to Saturday 2 October

Would you like to see your sculpture cast in bronze? Casting in bronze is often regarded as the pinnacle of sculpture yet the costs and procedures involved in the classic lost wax method often places it outside the access of most artists.

Sandcasting offers a means of casting in bronze that is much lower in cost and is more direct and accessible, particularly for emerging artists. This 2-day workshop will provide the opportunity to create a small cast bronze sculpture at a price that is affordable to anyone.

No previous sculpture experience is required. Your tutor, sculptor Richard Byrnes, will guide you through the processes of preparation, casting and finishing required for your bronze sculpture. All tools and materials are provided.

Additional foundry fees are required to cover casting costs and are paid directly to the tutor.

Covid-safe information

This workshop is conducted under covid safe regulations. Student numbers are capped , social distancing is employed and participants are required to sign on upon arrival .
