Explore botanical art with the beautifully fluid medium of watercolour in this 2.5-hour introductory program.

Students will explore the details of leaves, flowers and seed pods to create their own botanical inspired artwork.

This fun course for beginners explores the basics of botanical art using watercolour, pencil and ink. Students will learn formal watercolour painting techniques such as washes, blooming and salt lifting.

We will complete some fun painting exercises and play with this versatile medium to explore ways to represent objects from nature.

Learn some simple tips and tricks to create the illusion of texture, tone and form. Explore transparent and opaque layering to make your work pop!

  • Intimate class size: maximum 10 students 

  • Level: designed for beginner level students 

  • Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes 

  • Bring: yourself – all materials provided
