Saturday 23 October 2021 from 11am to 12:30pm
Join The Women's Library and Feminist Legal Clinic on 23 October 2021 from 11:00am for the Australian launch of Women Unsilenced.
Written by Canadian public health nurses, Jeanne Sarson and Linda MacDonald, Women Unsilenced explores the impact of unthinkable violence committed against women and girls through multiple perspectives.
Jeanne Sarson and Linda MacDonald spent twenty-eight years developing ways of offering care and healing to women who, as children and or as adults, survived being tortured, trafficked, and who suffered other forms of sexualized exploitation inflicted by their parent(s), a guardian, or a spouse.
When asked how two women — two nurses — who live in a little Canadian Nova Scotia town managed to achieve what they have, their answer is simple: “We cared!”
This event is online. Zoom details will be sent to registered participants on the day before.
The book can be purchased from Friesen Press and see the website for reviews and more information.
