Belonging is the key to equitable innovation

When

Tuesday 4 April 2023 from 8pm to 9pm

Finding freedom to innovate in a diverse and equitable ecosystem.

Social diversity in business is the new normal. However, despite driving innovation in other ways, the tech startup ecosystem has some work to do in this area.

Nurturing a sense of belonging for all leads to new ideas. An inclusive and supportive environment not only benefits underrepresented groups, it creates new opportunities and enhances the health of the whole startup ecosystem.

Preethi discusses how a welcoming atmosphere can foster collaboration, empathy, creativity, and a sense of community among entrepreneurs and investors. Find out what it takes to create the right environment for stronger, more sustainable, and future-ready businesses.

Bio

Having worked at Google, InterContinental and Samsung, Preethi left the corporates to try and change the world with startups. She’s led 3 startups (MarTech, MediaTech and HealthTech), to varying levels of success.

Today, Preethi runs NiceTo, an organisation that works towards a more diverse, inclusive and equitable startup ecosystem and aims to fundamentally change the funding equation. NiceTo is an aggregator and brings together media, investors, big tech and government to create real change.

About the venue - Casa Rosa

The Abercrombie has undergone an incredible transformation with three venues now under the one roof.

On ground floor is the Abercrombie’s incredible club space with a state of the art sound system, public bar, and beer garden with a full pub menu and pizza by the slice.

For a more relaxed atmosphere, venture upstairs to Casa Rosa, a playful, late-night Italo-disco cocktail lounge and rooftop terrace with an eclectic mix of DJs on high rotation throughout the week.

Head into the adjoining terraces, for Chippendale's (very) late-night wine bar and shop, Lil Sis. Inspired by the charming ‘cave à vins’ found in the neighbourhoods of Paris.
