Bad Press Launch

Bad Press (formerly known as Big Fag Press) is an artist-run printing collective. Way back in 2004 we got our beautiful old offset proof-press from a liquidation auction. The 4-tonne machine was redundant in the commercial printing world. But we, the luddites of BAD PRESS have kept it alive.

We champion the old-skool, the dance of oil versus water, the toxic burp of solvent-n-ink chemical wash-ups, the physical kiss of sticky pigment on aluminium plates on rubber rollers on fibrous thick paper stocks… and the thrill of artists working with communities to bring print projects that matter into the world.

To celebrate our 20th anniversary we gave ourselves a new name and a rebranding. So welcome, on December 8, at our studio in Glebe from 2pm for an afternoon of printing, vegetarian BBQ and free memorabilia, to hush in 20 more years.
