They will discuss their artistic practices and the enduring allure of still life, exploring how ordinary items can evoke memory, meaning, and material presence.
Selected by Hendrik Kolenberg, Still Life: Image and Object brings together a diverse group of artists who share a deep appreciation for the hand-held and hand-formed, imbuing their subjects with lasting resonance. Each of these ceramicists, painters and draughtspeople share a love of the hand-held, hand-formed; they celebrate objects, and by making them, impart them with undeniable appeal, presence and in time, enduring significance.
