All Night Long Chaos with Chaos In The CBD

There’s something timeless about Chaos In The CBD. Their sound pulls from deep house, spiritual jazz, broken beat and stripped-back tech – always warm, always human.

Born in New Zealand and now based in London, brothers Ben and Louis Helliker-Hales have spent the past decade perfecting a sound that speaks to both dancers and deep listeners, the kind of heads who dig past the obvious and settle into the groove.

Their records on Rhythm Section, Mule Musiq and their own In Dust We Trust, blend the percussive touch of jazz with the hypnotic pull of house. Their DJ sets? Even better. They move with patience and purpose, gradually layering emotion, rhythm and soul into something far more than the sum of its parts.

This December, they bring that energy to City Recital Hall for a six-hour, all-night session. It’s not just a party, it’s a musical meditation, a late-night exploration with two selectors who know their craft and live for the moment where dance, feeling and sound converge.
