Ultra Violet is not just a party — it’s a pulse. A glowing, femme-charged frequency signalling the first night of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2026. Created by long-time co-conspirators Sveta Gilerman and Jess Hill (DJ Estee Louder), Ultra Violet will takeover the acoustic jewel of Angel Place, transforming City Recital Hall’s iconic auditorium and grand foyer into a lush dreamscape of queer sensuality.
This is a night drenched in the creative power of women and gender-diverse artists: decadent burlesque, ritualistic performance art, provocateur cabaret, visual seduction, and swaggering drag kings. The soundtrack? An Ecstatica collision of house, electro-pop, club, hip-hop, and disco — delivered by some of the most delectable queer talent on the scene including DJ Gemma, Yolanda Frost, Jacqui Cunningham, Jo Christy, Kate Doherty, DJ Sveta and Tanzer.
This Friday the 13th will be very lucky for some. Ultra Violet is an unapologetically sapphic space — intimate, electric, and defiant, open to LGBTQIA+ women and allies. Come soft, come wild, come as you are.
