A Flight of Fancy is a vibrant celebration of nature, nostalgia, and artistic whimsy by a Sydney-based artist, Libby Hackett, whose work is infused with a deep love of painting, ceramics, and the vivid characters of her childhood imagination. Drawing inspiration from the flamboyance of Carmen Miranda, the iconic floral headdresses of Frida Kahlo, and the dynamic personalities of local birdlife, this exhibition explores the intersection of fantasy and the natural world.

A proud former member of The Gould League of Bird Lovers, the artist’s lifelong passion for birds and creativity comes alive in colourful canvases that blend playful theatrics with heartfelt homage. Imagining cockatoos and magpies as glittering showgirls, her work bursts with colour, movement, and tropical flair.

A Flight of Fancy runs from Friday 20th June 2025 till Wednesday 25th June, open daily from 11am to 5pm. Join us for the exhibition opening on Saturday 21 June, 3-5pm. Step into a richly layered world where birds wear crowns, fruit becomes fashion, and suburbia is reimagined with colour, joy and just a touch of fantasy
