Wandering: A Rohingya Story

Now in its fourth year, the Australian Global Health Film Festival continues to harness the power of storytelling to amplify voices, shift perspectives, and spark action on global health.

Since 2022, Australia Global Health Film Festival has proudly presented 19 films across four cities with thought-provoking panel discussions that bring together health leaders, advocates, and communities.

Wandering: A Rohingya Story is a visually stunning documentary of life inside the world’s largest refugee camp through the voice of Rohingya refugee Kala Miya (Kalam).

In 2017, nearly 700,000 Rohingya Muslims fled genocide in Myanmar, turning Bangladesh’s Kutupalong refugee camp into the largest in the world.

A moving story and poetic exploration of displacement, survival, and quiet resilience, Wandering invites us to witness both the pain and the enduring hope of a community forced to the margins.

The film screen will be followed by an expert panel discussion and Q&A with the film director and guests:
