Usefulbox — Marrickville’s beloved sewing school and studio — opens its doors for a full day of making, mending, and community as part of Sydney Craft Week 2026.

Drop in any time between 10am and 3pm to tour the studio, meet the teachers, watch live demonstrations, and browse the retail shop and Usefulbox pattern line. Bring something that needs repairing and join the Mending Circle, where experienced sewers will help you fix it. For complete beginners, two ticketed “First Time at a Sewing Machine” taster sessions run at 10:30am and 1pm.

Stay on for Social Sewing from 3–7pm — bring your own project, settle in at a machine or with your hand sewing, and spend the evening stitching alongside fellow makers. No teacher, no agenda. Just good company and uninterrupted sewing time.

All are welcome.
