Tropfest is back! The world’s largest short film festival returns to Centennial Park on February 22nd and you need to be there.

Experience Tropfest for $0. We are proud to keep festival entry free and accessible to all.

Tropfest is where bold stories meet big audiences. It’s where emerging filmmakers become established voices, even household names, and where audiences witness the future of cinema unfold in real time.

The festival is made possible with the generous support of our Presenting Partner Commbank, Powered by Partner YouTube, Qantas, Nine, the NSW Government, Greater Sydney Parklands, Destination NSW and more.

This year, our 16 finalists are competing for a massive prize pool, thanks to the CommBank Emerging Filmmakers Fund:

  • 1st Prize: $50,000

  • 2nd Prize: $30,000

  • 3rd Prize: $20,000

Who decides the winner? We are incredibly proud to announce that Academy Award nominated actor and producer Margot Robbie is your Tropfest 2026 Jury President! She will be leading the esteemed judging panel live on the night to decide who takes home the prizes and trophies.

Gates open at noon, with entertainment throughout the afternoon. Official proceedings kicking off at approximately 6:45pm.

Tropfest isn’t just a film festival, it’s a powerful launchpad for up and coming storytellers. We can’t wait to see you there!

Tropfest is a not-for-profit foundation and we welcome your support. Full lineup & program coming soon here: Tropfest.com
