More than just a show, The Chronicles is catharsis, a moment of reckoning, and ultimately, a reflection on hope. This brand-new work from Stephanie Lake Company will linger with you long after the final note fades.

Lake is currently the Resident Choreographer of The Australian Ballet and is one of the most innovative Australian choreographers to emerge in the last decade. The creator of the international hits Colossus and Manifesto (smash successes at Sydney Festival in 2020 and 2023) offers a new epic driven by transformation.

Pulsing with energy and sensuality, The Chronicles explores the cycles of life and the inevitability of change. Twelve incredible dancers meet a masterful electro-acoustic score by Robin Fox, which blends driving rhythms with the stirring, ethereal sounds of a children’s choir and a solo vocalist singing live on stage. Lake’s choreography – her signature blend of explosive dynamism and poetic introspection – navigates these cycles with tenderness and power.

The Chronicles is made not just for the times we live in – but to help us through them.
