Learn basic communication skills by focusing on day-to-day conversational topics and build a good fundamental understanding of the Thai language.

Even though Thai is a tonal language, with the guidance of our professional tutor, you will learn to recognise five different pitches in pronunciation with ease.

This online learn Thai beginners course is highly practical and offers you plenty of listening and speaking practice.

Additionally, you will learn basic grammar and sentence structure which gives you a solid foundation of the language so that you can speak basic Thai with joy and confidence. You will take home Thai language skills that will last you a lifetime.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this Thai beginners course, you would have enhanced your career prospects by:

  • Identify and write the Thai script alphabet (the foundations for reading and writing Thai script)

  • The tones and how to pronounce words in conversational standard Thai

  • The fundamentals of basic Thai grammar

  • The fundamentals of Thai etiquette.

  • Difference between formal and familiar forms of the language

  • Greet people, introduce yourself and talk about yourself and others

  • Give your address and telephone number

  • Ask for and give basic directions

  • Express your likes, dislikes, and preferences

  • Say the months, date, seasons, and weather

  • Ask simple questions (such as who, what, where, etc) and make general requests, including quantities

  • Use the numbering system, money and making payments

  • Order food and drinks at bars and restaurants and understand Thai food culture
