Your idea in 54 hours
Do you have a problem to solve or an idea you’d like to bring to life but don't know where to start? Or who to start with?
The hardest part of starting up is starting out - and we’re here to help!
On December 1-3, the NSW Government is powering a Startup Weekend for anyone across Sydney who is interested in learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures.
Learn how to think, work, and build like a startup in 54 thrilling hours. Techstars Startup Weekend is an exciting and immersive foray into the world of startups. Over an action-packed three days, you’ll meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders and sponsors to show you how to get more done faster -- and, maybe even start that Business.
You'll be signing up for a 54-hour frenzy where you will experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that make up life at a startup. This experience will be facilitated by the wonderful Lalitha Wemel - based in Malaysia, Lalitha is a founder, experience designer and startup ecosystem builder with an extensive background in design, community, talent, startup, growth, and industry engagement at a public and private sector level.
Kicking off with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, the weekend will culminate in Sunday night presentations where your team will have the opportunity to pitch to judges and receive valuable feedback (as well as win some great prizes)!
You can come with an idea (it should be something that isn’t already an up and running business) and an existing team, or with the goal to create a team on the day. If you don’t have an idea that’s fine - you’ll hear pitches from people on Friday night and have the opportunity to join someone else and work on the idea they present.
Tickets are $40 which covers your participation in the event as well as 7 meals across the weekend!
We don’t want finance to be a barrier, so if $40 isn’t feasible for you please send us an email at email@example.com to discuss options.
