Wednesday 11 October 2023 from 6pm to 7:30pm
A panel of creatives discuss the dividends from investing time to create communities of like-minded crafters and also from sharing their craft with the broader community.
Panellists include:
Jane Theau, a multi-disciplinary artist and a committed facilitator of arts projects with refugee groups in Auburn and the community in northern Sydney. She founded Textiles Sydney in 2020 (based at Primrose Park Arts and Crafts Centre in Cremorne), a fast-growing and passionate community of textile practitioners.
Bridget Kennedy, a renowned contemporary jeweller and object maker who is a passionate advocate for redoing, remaking and recreating. Her bespoke projects and support of artisans and facilitation of community workshops allow her to share her knowledge, inspire and support other makers.
Jean Kropper, a paper artist, paper engineer, hand bookbinder, cartoonist, printmaker, designer and paper sculptor. She owns design studio ‘Paper and Pixel’.
This event is part of the Sydney Craft Week Festival 6-15 October 2023.
