The Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship is a prestigious event that has been a part of the Eisteddfod since 1933.
Formerly known as The Sun Aria, this competition was established to uncover exceptional singing talent across Australia and New Zealand. Over the years, this event has served as a launching pad for many aspiring opera singers.
This year, the Sydney Eisteddfod is proud to continue our partnership with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra for the Opera Scholarship event. The finalists of the competition will have the honour of performing with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the renowned Maestro Dr Nicholas Milton. This collaboration with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra will add a new level of grandeur to the event and create a unique opportunity for the finalists to showcase their talent in front of a live audience.
The Opera Scholarship is a true celebration of the beauty and power of the human voice. We invite all lovers of music and opera to join us for this spectacular event and witness the incredible talent of the finalists as they compete for this prestigious scholarship.
