Suicide prevention workshop

When
  • Every day, 9am to 5pm
  • Monday 31 August to Tuesday 1 September

Connection Works, in collaboration with UNSW and a big thanks to the NSW Ministry of Health, we’re able to offer fully funded I-ASIST workshops to Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations, services and communities across NSW. This is LivingWorks’ Indigenous-specific suicide intervention training - designed by and for Indigenous communities, grounded in cultural understanding and community strength.

What is I-ASIST?

I-ASIST is a two-day workshop that builds confidence and skills in recognising when someone might be at risk of suicide and how to intervene in a culturally safe way - all within a framework that honours Indigenous ways of knowing, healing, and caring for one another

This free, 2-day training will teach you the skills to support someone in crisis. You’ll learn practical intervention skills and a structured approach to safety planning through interactive scenarios, small group activities and practice yarns with feedback.

This workshop is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforces, communities and individuals. Non-Indigenous allies are also welcome. Participants receive a certificate of completion.
