Join celebrated Australian author Craig Silvey to celebrate the release of Runt, the heart-warming story of triumph and resilience we all need. Runt is a story about persevering despite the odds. A story for the underdogs and outsiders, this talk is for every generation of Craig Silvey fan and suitable for the whole family to enjoy.

Books will be available for sale and signing.

About the speakers

Craig Silvey

Craig Silvey is an author and screenwriter from Fremantle, Western Australia.

His critically acclaimed debut novel, Rhubarb, was published in 2004. His bestselling second novel, Jasper Jones, was released in 2009 and is considered a modern Australian classic. Published in over a dozen territories, Jasper Jones has won plaudits in three continents, including an International Dublin Literary Award shortlisting, a Michael J. Printz Award Honor, and a Miles Franklin Literary Award Shortlisting. Jasper Jones was the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year for 2010. The stage adaptation of Jasper Jones was produced for stage by no less than five different companies, who all performed separate sell-out productions, the BGTC, Belvoir, MTC, QTC, STCSA.

Craig’s third novel Honeybee was published in 2020 to critical acclaim and sold over 100,000 copies of the first edition. This continues the success of modern classic and international bestseller Jasper Jones, which has sold over 400,000 copies since publication and been adapted into a critically acclaimed film and stage play.

Dani Vee writes laugh out loud books with heart to instil a love of reading in children. An experienced English Head Teacher, she understands how to engage students in their learning by making workshops fun and interactive.

Dani Vee is host of the popular literary podcast Words and Nerds. With over 52,000 listeners every month and more than 500 episodes, the podcast has become a significant part of the Australian literary community. She has interviewed Matthew Reilly, Trent Dalton, Jackie French, Tara Moss, Andy Griffiths and many many more.
