South African Day Out

Non-for-profit organisation, Missionvale Australia, is hosting South African Day Out, an all-ages festival leading into South African Heritage Day which will help raise much-needed funds for the Missionvale Care Centre, in Nelson Mandela Bay. 

The day out will include lawn bowls, a DJ, African drumming, dancing, singing, South African food and sweets, hair braiding and face painting, and a raffle. The event will be hosted by South African former professional boxer and solicitor, Lovemore Ndou. 

The Missionvale Care Centre is at the heart of the Missionvale township located in Gqeberha (previously Port Elizabeth), Nelson Mandela Bay. Funds raised have gone towards retail skills training programs that have placed people with no prospects or hope into employment; building school facilities, healthcare, clothing; and provided countless food packages to those unable to work due to illness or circumstance. 

The South African Day Out will further support Missionvale Care Centre in offering education, health care, and skills development to those in need.
