The music industry is always shifting and the digital landscape is in constant flux. Different technologies come and go; some stick, and some don't. One thing is for sure: music and technology go hand in hand.

Hosted by Kartini Ludwig (Director and Founder of Kopi Su), we talk with two collaborators – Daniel Stricker (The Deep Faith / Siberia Records / Midnight Juggernauts) and Serwah Attafuah (artist) – who have been working with NFTs and AI tools to release new music and create multidisciplinary works. In 2021, The Deep Faith & Serwah Attafuah (among others, including Jamie xx) collaborated on a Crypto Digital Opera commissioned by the Sydney Opera House. The collaboration saw a digital extension of a single through NFTs, live avatars and motion capture.

Multidisciplinary artist (including musician), Attafuah creates surreal cyber dreamscapes and heavenly wastelands, populated by afro-futuristic abstractions of self with strong ancestral and contemporary themes. She is highly regarded as a leader in the NFT space and has spoken at RightClickSave art and crypto conference, ADOBE Max, TEDx and SXSW Sydney.

The Deep Faith – Daniel Stricker along with fellow multidisciplinary artist Byron Spencer – aims to push digital creative boundaries. Earlier this year, they released an AI generated single King of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, which features an AI Snoop Dogg singing a song about Anthony Kiedis doing his grocery shopping. Since then, they’ve performed a show in the crypt at St James Cathedral and will join this event fresh off the back of supporting Genesis Owusu on his US and Canada tour.

Kartini Ludwig is the Director and Founder of Kopi Su, a digital design and innovation studio based on Gadigal land, Sydney. Kartini is the driving force behind Sonic Mutations, a collaborative AI music performance series originally commissioned by the Sydney Opera House for Outlines Festival (July 2023). The project has made appearances at SXSW Sydney and the Australasian Computer Music Conference. With over seven years of experience as a seasoned Producer and Digital Strategist, Kartini has an impressive track record of delivering projects at the intersection of arts, culture, and technology.
