Be swept away by the distinctive sounds from Russia in the music of Borodin, Glinka, Rachmaninov, Rimksy-Korsakoff and Tchaikovsky.

Take this rare opportunity to hear evocative and exotic operatic highlights from the fairy-tale operas 'Snowmaiden' and 'Sadko' performed by some of Australia’s finest singers.

Also hear familiar favourites by Rachmaninoff, the well loved Tchaikovsky opera 'Eugene Onegin' and beautiful songs by other Russian composers set to the texts of Pushkin and other major Russian poets.

Our wonderful young sopranos Jillian Halleron, Alya Meyer, Natalia Melnik, Kerry Nicholson and Anna Tafani; mezzos Lisa Munckton, Agnes Sarkis and Jill Sullivan; tenors, Hongxin Xiang and Kent McIntosh; basses David Hernden and Lucas Tamayo with Claire Race on piano are super-excited to share with you this amazing music. We are also incredibly thrilled to be presenting both a Russian and a Ukrainian soprano in our line up.

The Opera and Song collective is delighted to be presenting this programme in association with Natalia Melnik and Russian for Singers.
