You may be familiar with the word 'sepsis', but do you know what it is exactly? Did you know it kills approximately 8700 Australians every year?

Despite these staggering statistics, sepsis remains under-recognised in the community.

SOMEBODY #coulditbesepsis? is a powerful and important documentary photographic exhibition shedding light on 12 sepsis survivors. It provides a personal and intimate look at the sepsis survivor experience in the hope to raise awareness, so that the community can begin to understand the gravity and profound impact it has on individuals and their families.

Helene is a creative documentary photographer. Interested in diversity and human experience, her work explores the lives of ordinary people. Her work has been collected by the State Library of NSW and Fairfield Museum & Gallery and has been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions over a number of years.
