Sydney 1929: Tilly Devine and Kate Leigh rule the underworld. The Razor Gang Wars erupt. Blood flows. Meet them in the crypt.

Journey through Sydney’s dark past with Razor Gang Wars – an immersive theatre show staged in the unique setting of a 200-year-old crypt beneath the St James’ Church in Sydney.

The audience will be guided through the eerie rooms to witness the story behind one of Sydney’s most interesting true crimes!

Razor Gang Wars is set in Sydney during the late 1920s when crime queens Tilly Devine and Kate Leigh ruled the underworld. When the notorious Norman Bruhn makes a bid to overturn the backstreets of Razorhurst, a war of deceit and violence erupts. Amid the chaos stands Lillian Armfield, Australia’s first police woman.

Back by popular demand, Razor Gang Wars returns to the crypt following a sold-out season in 2022 and rave reviews. It's the fourth instalment in the Deadhouse immersive theatre series, presenting classic Australian tales of true crimes for the past five years.

“Razor Gang Wars is a one-of-a-kind, not to be missed theatrical experience” – Weekend Notes

"Truly an historic Sydney experience that no one who calls Sydney home should miss." – Sydney Scoop
