Short course: portrait painting for beginners

Our 4-hour Saturday afternoon one-off workshop is designed for absolute beginners who are eager to discover how to capture their friends or family members' likeness in paint.

Led by an expert tutor, you'll learn about basic painting techniques, facial proportions, and colour mixing in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Bring a quality head and shoulder colour photo of your chosen subject – a cherished friend or family member and discover how to turn a simple photograph into a portrait that expresses their unique character.

  • All materials are provided – all you need to bring is your colour portrait photo of choice.

  • Intimate class size: maximum 12 students

  • Level: designed for beginner level students 16+yrs

  • Bring: yourself – all materials provided

Wear: enclosed shoes (no sandals or thongs) and comfortable clothing (aprons provided)
