Panic! At The Underground III: Halloween returns to haunt UTS

Get ready to descend into The Underground once more — Panic! At The Underground is back for its third year, and this time, we’re bringing the event you already know and love, with plenty of new additions to sink your teeth into. UTS Music Society is once again summoning an even bigger, better intervarsity alliance with Macquarie Musicians’ Society, UNSW Rock Music Society, UNSW MUSOC, Notre Dame Performing Arts Society, as well as local band Scrawl Protocol, to deliver a night of tribute sets that’ll leave you spellbound.

This year, we’ve got a lineup built to haunt you long after the night ends.

We’re conjuring the moody, guitar-driven ghosts of alt-rock: Linkin Park’s rage, Radiohead’s existential dread, Muse’s arena-sized ache, and Fall Out Boy’s emo-tinged chaos, plus 90s dad rock classics and a secret song we’re not spilling yet.

And if the night isn’t enough…

Swing by our PATU merch stall to take a piece of The Underground home with you, because a night like this deserves to be remembered.

What’s in store:

  • Tribute Bands: Sets covering Linkin Park, Radiohead, Muse, Fall Out Boy, and a run of 90s dad rock classics — capped off with a secret special performance we’re not spilling until the night

  • Halloween Stalls in The Hideout: Wander through spooky stalls from Minecraft Society, Anime@UTS, Pokemon Society, TBL and more

  • Costume Contest: Bring your best (or worst) Halloween look for a shot at prizes, courtesy of UTS Darlings

  • Photobooth: Capture the chaos with UTS Photography Society’s spooky photobooth

  • Sensory Room: Tucked next to The Hideout, a quiet space to step away and recharge whenever it all gets a bit much

  • Food and Drinks: Devilishly good catering to keep you fuelled. 1000+ servings, and the first 300 guests score a free drink!

  • Gaming Hub: Need a break from the scares? Round up your friends and battle it out in our Mario Kart gaming hub! Pure chaotic fun, no jump scares required

  • Scavenger Hunt: Put your wits to the test with a spine-tingling scavenger hunt brought to you by UTS Puzzle Society

Pull on your best flannel, smudge on some eyeliner, or go full costume! However you show up, come ready for a night where the riffs are heavy, the atmosphere is eerie, and The Underground is calling.
