OMNI Generative Film Festival 2025: “Visions of Tomorrow” – Sydney’s Inaugural AI/Generative Film Festival

The OMNI Generative Film Festival is set to debut its preview edition, OMNI: 0.5, on April 29, 2025, at Knox Street Bar in Chippendale, NSW. This event marks Sydney’s first AI/Generative film festival, offering viewers and participants a glimpse into the future of cinema, created with artificial intelligence and generative technologies.

About the Film Festival

OMNI is a biannual, international festival dedicated to showcasing the latest advancements in generative video. As this creative field rapidly evolves, OMNI aims to provide a platform for innovative works from creators worldwide, regardless of age or experience. The preview edition, OMNI: 0.5, serves as a precursor to the full-scale festival planned for late 2025, establishing thesubmission process, categories, and judging criteria.

Screened Selections Event

Join us for an intimate evening featuring selected screenings of award-winning films, discussions with filmmakers, and insights from experts in generative AI and technology. The event will also include commentary from our esteemed jury panel on the emerging trends in generative cinema. Capacity is limited.

Call for Submissions

Filmmakers and creators are invited to submit their AI-generated and generative films for consideration in OMNI: 0.5. In recognition of this inaugural event, submission fees are waived. The deadline for submissions is April 10, 2025 (Midnight AEST). OMNI: 0.5 has already received more than 600 entries since its launch earlier this year from over 20 countries. The entries vary in style and substance ranging from under one minute to more than 4 hours.
