National Poetry Month Gala

Celebrate 20 years of Red Room Poetry by joining us at this year's National Poetry Month Gala.

The gala will showcase some of Australia’s finest contemporary poets including Jazz Money, Sara Saleh, Freya Daly Sadgrove (NZ) and Rebecca Shaw, L-FRESH The LION, 2023 Red Room Fellow Charmaine Papertalk Green, and the winner of the 2023 Stella Prize, Sarah Holland-Batt. 

Hosted by Benjamin Law, the night includes ABC TV’s Jennifer Wong, actor Chika Ikogwe, actor and singer Paul Capsis, John B. Fairfax AO and special guest Minister for the Arts, Tony Burke reading contemporary Australian poems, as well as a musical performance by First Nations choir Mudjingaal Yangamba.

There will also be pre-show foyer pop-up performances and bookshop, and the ACO bar will be open for drinks.
